I am coming along great with my shoulder surgery healing.
Life's been interesting, we also lost our electricity power for four days, due to storm in DC Area.
Frankly, this worked out great for me, since I need to keep it slow...not having electricity made the sewing machine less appealing (LOL).
I've found some interesting ways to stay "busy" without power and limited function. Here are a few "fun" ways I am keeping busy:
OK, I'll admit, this may seem lame, but I am EXCITED!!
I organized my sewing pins. Yes sir! I went through the entire bucked-sorted and purged. Now I can once again predict what pin I will pull. Heads and tips, width and lengths, OH MY…

Plus, I got to know my "feet". I finally read my sewing machine manual and studied up on my attachments. Did you know there are tons of people on You Tube teaching people how to use sewing machine attachments? Who knew?...well apparently, Charlene Phillips knew. Which is why reading her book, The Sewing Machine Attachment Handbook, was and experience. Let me just say, I AM THOUGHLY EDUCATED ABOUT SEWING MACHINE ATTACHMENTS AND THE HISTORY OF SEWING MACHINES.
Found out, there are buried treasures in my studio...strange and "cool" things in my studio I didn’t know I owned. My husband brought me three boxes from the studio’s closet (specifically- top shelf on the right, behind the batting stash). I found:

• Two vintage celluloid purse handles—cannot wait to rock these.
• Four ceramic buttons shaped like rocks…I was looking for these for over a year! Came in the mail and haven't seen them since. Don't remember what I planned for these.
• A boatload of appliqué pattern books—whose are these? Butterflies and bunnies??-- not really my type (LOL)
• Five interesting how to books for soap making, macramé, enameling, wood printing and fabric dying (some of these copyright 1967)—it is likely I will not find most of the chemicals needed for some of these projects.
I am planning my future--I sign up for two classes—one is a Pattern Making and Design class (watch out Project Runway); and, the other, Mix Media and Fabric Design.
Well, that's it for now, gotta go pull my shoulder on the "door pulley"...take care for now.
