  2. Thanks. whew! I had a wonderful experience with this project. It was a personal challenge, since I truly got to combine old and new skills-and,I discovered quite a bit about shoe construction and glue :). Your comment is encouraging.

  3. Neat! And thanks so much for choosing one of my fabric designs for your project. Which fabric did you get it printed on? Be interesting to see how it holds up to the hard use that a pair of shoes gets.

  4. I am using the quilted weight fabric for this Upcycled Shoes project. As far as durability---yesterday, I spent the day on Broadway in NYC. We walked around Time Square, caught a play and had dinner in Bryant Park---these shoes held up well. The key is the glue. The quilted weight works great! Of couse, canvas would probably be a better choice.
BTW, I got lots of compliments on your design!!

  5. I am from a long line of quilter's and have a quilt top given to me by my 86 year old aunt that was hand pieced by my Grannie and Great Grannie in Texas around the 30's or 40's. I am trying to identify a piece of fabric used in the quilt. I hope you can help. So far the many contacts I have made have not be able to identify it. I would love to know its history! I can send a photo to an email but don't know how to here. It is a picture of an African American girl holding an umbrella walking in the rain. Pink background, red umbrella, girl is wearing a blue dress.
